Shared Parental Responsiblity
In October of 2008, the statute regarding shared parental responsibility, and a designation of sole parental responsibility, has been changed.
In most cases, except for the most extreme, the Courts award to the parents shared parental responsibility. What this means, practically, is that both parents should consult and agree on major decisions concerning their children. These decisions include, but are not limited to the children’s medical care, schooling and religion.
